Trailer towing driver training

The laws regarding trailer towing are complex.

The basic rule is that each driver needs the driving licence category known as B+E. If they took and passed their driving test before January 1997 they should have this on their licence by default. However, if they passed the driving test after this time they will need to take the B+E driving test at a DSA driving test centre. There are exceptions for small trailers under a certain weight.
